Crawford County High School Poetry Contest
World Book Night

World Book Night is a national non-profit that sends brand-new books to individuals and organizations who will then give them to their local communities. The purpose is to promote literacy and the love of reading. This year, our chapter successfully gave 150 books away!

This year we've hosted our very first high school poetry contest. We will be posting the winning submissions to the website with tips and forms for next year very soon! Keep visiting our website for more current information.

Every year our chapter runs a book drive for Better World Books. This organization sends money and books to literacy programs globally. For more information about what they do, see their website at: http://www.betterworldbooks.com/.

Last year we were one of the Top 25 book donors in the country and are goal is to meet or exceed this goal this year. Check back in June for the actual number of donated books!

Some of our members tutor adult learners at the Crawford County READ Program. This non-profit provides family literacy services, GED classes and driver's permit classes for local community members. In a county with a 13.2% illiteracy rate, this service is much needed. For more information about their services, see their website at: http://www.crawfordcountyreadprogram.net/

We're currently working on strengthening our relationship with this non-profit in our community. Check out our calendar for related upcoming events that we are developing in collaboration with this program.
